Steve Tyrell's musical talents have contributed to a variety of Hollywood productions. Tyrell worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Extremities" (1986) starring Farrah Fawcett, "Harry and the Hendersons" with John Lithgow (1987) and "Million Dollar Mystery" with Eddie Deezen (1987). He also contributed to "Summer Heat" (1987), "The Night Stalker" (1987) starring Charles Napier and "Wild Thing" (1987) starring Robert Knepper. In the nineties, Tyrell devoted his time to various credits, such as "Father of the Bride" with Steve Martin (1991), "The Five Heartbeats" (1991) and "Family Prayers" (1993). He also worked on "Happily Ever After" with Dom DeLuise (1993). Tyrell was nominated for an Outstanding Individual Achievement In Music and Lyrics Primetime Emmy Award for "The Heights" in 1993 as well as for an Outstanding Music Direction Primetime Emmy Award for "And the Beat Goes On: The Sonny and Cher Story" in 1999. Tyrell's music was also featured in the dramatic adaptation "Once Upon a Time... When We Were Colored" (1996) with Al Freeman Jr., the dramatic comedy "That Thing You Do!"
