Ben Turpin was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Turpin began his acting career appearing in various films, such as the Hope Drown anthology "Hollywood" (1923), "Hogan's Alley" (1925) and "The Pride Of Pikeville" (1927). He also appeared in the adaptation "The Love Parade" (1929) with Maurice Chevalier. He kept working in film throughout the twenties and the thirties, starring in "The Show of Shows" (1929) with Frank Fay, "Make Me a Star" (1932) and the Jack Oakie sports comedy "Million Dollar Legs" (1932). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "The Law of the Wild" (1934), the dramatic comedy "Hollywood Cavalcade" (1939) with Alice Faye and the comedy "Saps at Sea" (1940) with Stan Laurel. Turpin was most recently credited in "Oh, Men! Oh, Women!" (1957) with Dan Dailey. Turpin passed away in July 1940 at the age of 66.
