Whenever I watch this film, it teaches me a little bit more about life and it releases many different types of feelings that are deep within my soul. I look at film and it shows me that Love has no color. it is'nt prejudice but it is very powerful. Especially, a Mother's love her love is forever lasting and most endearing, and how she will go to the end of this earth to see about her child. There is so much to be learned from watching this movie, you realize that love has no color, but that it does have great power and meaning. What the overall plot of this movie means to me is that Love is an action word and that it should not be taken for granted you should respect and love those that mean something to you in life because tomorrow is'nt promised and there are somethings that you just can't take back. One thing for sure death is so final, and you can't right a wrong the good thing about Annie, (Sarah Janes's Mother she understood what her daughter was going through and all was forgiven, but learning how to forgive yourself can be cause great triumph and pain. She was truly blessed but she did'nt even know it. Great Film!!!!!!!! It helps to keep me grounded with much in life to understand and be grateful for. Thank You, For Producing Something So Wonderful.

yeah...thanks for voicing my exact opinion they should play madame x at least two times a week and she shouldve won an oscar for it!!! it makes me so angry and amazed at the academy-like how did bette Davis not win over Greer garson with now voyager? I love Greer Garson but bette is simply better!!

  • A Great Actress But a Sad Life

I love Lana in the Ziegfield Girl, Imitations of Life, and Madame X is simply the best and saddest movie of all time. She was an amazing actress an shouldve won an Oscar for at least her one nomination-Peyton Place. Its sad to hear that she never was able to find a good man that she stayed happy andin love with-but I guess that's how it goes with most of the messed up lives of Hollywood. Too bad she had to have dealt with a bad childhood as well. But anyone who thinks that Lana is just pretty an nothing more needs to see Madame X and Imitations of Life.

Well, I've been looking for this movie so my husband can see it for years ! I've asked everyone I know if they've seen it....they haven't. I am writing for another Lana Turner marathon only if you run my favorite movie of hers....Madame X. I also just found out she didn't even get Oscar nominated for this performance.....HOW ON EARTH COULD THAT BE ? I cried and wanted more of her after seeing this movie......and I was a teenager then. PLEASE RE-RUN IT.

I think Lana Turner defines the word star not only by her glamour and grace but by her perfect beauty and the way she carried her self like a true screen goddess! Her acting is vastly underated and she deserves more air time! Please show a Lana Turner festival! I just adore her and many of her films are not available on VHS or DVD!

I've seen all of her movies. I always liked the fact that she looked like a Hollywood Star. But believe me when I tell you that she was overlooked for Oscar nominaton in the movie Madame X.I believe this was because of her lifestyle and the people she hurt in the movie industry. She was fantastic in Madame X. The earier version doesn't even come near her acting in the movie version of 1966. She made me cry in the movie. It didn't happen in the first version.

I have loved the great Lana since I first saw her on Falcon Crest when i was a teenager. She carried herself like a regal queen. Stunningly beautiful, an underrated actress whose films i really enjoy. My favorite is The Rains Of Ranchipur as she plays a complex woman and it doesn't hurt that she looks great in this film. The epitome of glamour and sophistication, I'm glad she was a top star. She deserved it as studio chiefs would treat her like garbage even though she had made them millions. Lana had the last laugh. Living well is the best revenge. Lana is one of the true greats.

  • Why Love Lana?

I like Lana - but I don't love her. And I do believe others did it better. But she was very good in Postman and some of her later work. I just feel that without make up, she was not a natural beauty. And that she seemed to play divas and that's all. But I guess that's enough of a reason to enjoy her.

Sure, Lana Turner is am execellent actress. She had so much to offer. She is my favoutite actress. She was beautiful and no one gives her enough credit than what she deserves. She is under rated and her potential was incredible. I loved her in her more dramaic roles, such as Madame X and my personal favourite, the Postman Always Rings Twice.

Abilities and talent never used to their full potential. Underrated as an actress, and despised for her sexual liberation.
