Two convicts, a white racist and an angry black, escape while chained to each other.
A troublemaker returns to town only to find his old tearaway pals have joined a supervised motorcycle club. Friction erupts between him and the new leader about this goody-goody setup, and about the charms of gang moll Terry.
To escape the edict of Egypt's Pharoah, Rameses I, condemning all first-born Hebrew males, the infant Moses is set adrift on the Nile in a reed basket. Saved by the pharaoh's daughter Bithiah, he is adopted by her and brought up in the court of her brother, Pharaoh Seti. Moses gains Seti's favor and the love of the throne princess Nefertiri, as well as the hatred of Seti's son, Rameses. When his Hebrew heritage is revealed, Moses is cast out of Egypt, and makes his way across the desert where he marries, has a son and is commanded by God to return to Egypt to free the Hebrews from slavery. In Egypt Moses's fiercest enemy proves to be not Rameses, but someone near to him who can 'harden his heart'.

Arthur Cameron (Pierre Watkin) has spent many years establishing the mountain forest community of New Horizon for underprivileged boys. His chief assistant is Hattie Hickory (Jane Darwell) who cooks and acts as a foster mother for the boy. The property is in danger of reverting to Julie Westcott (Jeff Donnell), whose father Sam Westcott (Bob Burns) has recently being killed by riding his horse into a rope stretched across the trail, and she believes the New Horizon boys to be responsible. She is determined to end the Cameron project and to sell the property to lumber king Bart Bryant (Joseph Granby). Actually behind the trouble is her attorney, Craig Danvers (Marten Lamont), who is in debt to Bryant, who has agreed to take the New Horizon property in payment of the debt. Danvers, with the help of his henchmen Curley (John Cason) and Lush Mason (Robert W. Wood), pulled off the killing through one of the New Horizon boys, Two-Bits (Jimmy Ogg), who just thought he was playing a trick on Westcott. Into this situation rides Rex Allen (Rex Allen), a young official of the American Forestry League, and his sidekick "Alfalfa" Donahue (billed as Carl Switzer).

In each case the "little child" is hardly innocent: in the first, a local auto mechanic's "baby" turns out to be fully developed as a woman and a musician; in the second, a spoiled child star learns kindness; in the third, the family of a lost brat doesn't want him returned. And Oliver, what becomes of him?
Six-year-old Jenny (Natalie Wood) rescues a collie dog, the only survivor of a plane wreck. A tag on the dog's neck states that it is en route to a medical laboratory where its blood will be used for spotted fever vaccine. Dr. Steven Webster (Dean Jagger) meets both Jenny and the dog and "adopts" them both. His fiancee Susan (Ruth Warrick) isn't too fond of either the girl or the dog. Webster wants to get a hospital for the town but he is suppressed by the town mayor (Jerome Cowan.) In the arguments that follow, Webster's lab is wrecked and ticks infected with spotted fever escape. The town is in a panic and all want to be vaccinated. Jenny is infected and is about to die.
George Bailey is a small-town man whose life seems so desperate he contemplates suicide. Cadwalader is backing Twine for mayor even though he knows he can't win, as he wants to keep a stronger candidate out of the running. But after the discovery of Zumph in Twine's pudding, Cadwalader realizes that Twine will win the election. He has Twine's pudding branded as a fake and Twine as a fraud. But Lemuel comes from a long line of fighting Twines and, as he dozes, his ancestors appear before him telling him to fight to the end.
