BIOGRAPHY

Roy Stewart was an accomplished actor who appeared in a variety of films throughout his Hollywood career. Stewart started his acting career landing roles in such films as "Riders of the Dawn" (1920), "Sparrows" (1926) with Mary Pickford and the adventure "The Viking" (1929) with Donald Crisp. He also appeared in the Warner Baxter adaptation "In Old Arizona" (1929), the Edmund Lowe action movie "Born Reckless" (1930) and the Kenneth MacKenna action picture "Men Without Women" (1930). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like "Zoo in Budapest" (1933), the Mick Jagger documentary "1 1" (1969) and "Leo the Last" (1970). He also appeared in the adaptation "Julius Caesar" (1971) with Charlton Heston. Stewart was most recently credited in "Storytime" (PBS, 1993-99). Stewart passed away in April 1933 at the age of 50.
