Mildred Pierce
- Larry Bradford
- 2010-09-30
"Mildred Pierce" was Ann Blyths' finest performance. She was acting but she came across as if everything she did was normal and natural. Ann couldn't have been more than 16 or 17 during this filming. She should have won a best supporting actress Oscar for this performance.

Now my question ::: What ever happen to her maid listed in the credits of this Twlight Zone episode. {Ruth Allen} in the episode she was later said to be Ann Blyth's Daughter age 70 years old. Do anyone have any information on this Lady.

Looking for Aunt Ann

Ann Blyth is my grandmothers, mothers, sisters, daughter. And my mother was named after her Alice Blyth Reiger. I watch TCM every day (not an exageration) and was wondering if you could do a special of Ann Blyth movies and of her life. I would love to be able to get in touch with her. I love to watch her movies, there is such a strong resemblance between my mother and her! Recently I saw a spotlight on Joan Crawford that Ann did. I realized the voice sounded so familiar and I thought how much she and my mother sounded alike. (My mother passed away in 1983 and I have not heard that voice in years)Thank you Kevin Burrier

It's a shame Ann Blyth didn't have more dramatic roles because anyone so young who could not only hold her own but create such a memorable character opposite the likes of Joan Crawford must have had a lot of promise. Mildred Pierce is one of those movies that if I see it's on I have to sit down and watch the rest of it.

Ann Blyte

Ann was on a promo tour and when in San Francisco I was lucky to take her to her interviews. I did this with many Stars. She without a doubt was the only one that had true beauty. She was more beautiful off the screen than on. Jet black hair, green eyes, alabaster skin and what a smile. Could not be more friendly. We were the same age and strict company policy was you didn't get involved with the stars. I could tell you some stories, but not about Ann Blyte.

ANN BLYTH IS ONE OF THE MOST UNAPPRECIATED ACTRESS THAT HOLLYWOOD HAS HAD. CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY ALL OF HER MOVIES ARE NOT ON DVD. DON'T THE STUDIOS REALIZE THE LARGE MARKET THAT EXISTS FOR MOVIES LIKE KISMET, ROSE MARIE, THE KINGS THIEF AND THE WORLD IN HIS ARMS. ANN BLYTH'S VOICE WAS SO GREAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN USED MY MGM MUCH MORE THAN IT WAS. I HAD THE PLEASURE OF SEEING HER IN A STAGE PRODUCTION OF SHOWBOAT SOME YEARS AGO AND SHE WAS PERFECT. GREAT STAR, GREAT ACTRESS, GREAT VOICE.
