Mickey Simpson was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Simpson began his acting career with roles in such films as the Henry Fonda historical film "My Darling Clementine" (1946), "The Argyle Secrets" (1948) and the action film "The Fighting Kentuckian" (1949) with John Wayne. He also appeared in "When Willie Comes Marching Home" (1950) with Dan Dailey, the Ben Johnson western "Wagonmaster" (1950) and the Robert Mitchum drama "His Kind of Woman" (1951). His film career continued throughout the fifties in productions like the Ann Blyth comedy adaptation "Rose Marie" (1954), "Prince Valiant" (1954) and the historical feature "Demetrius and the Gladiators" (1954) with Victor Mature. He also appeared in "New York Confidential" (1955). In the latter part of his career, he continued to act in "The Lone Ranger" (1956), "Giant" (1956) with Elizabeth Taylor and the Burt Lancaster adaptation "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral" (1957). He also appeared in "Warlock" (1959) with Richard Widmark. Simpson more recently acted in the Zero Mostel crime adaptation "The Great Bank Robbery" (1969). Simpson passed away in September 1985 at the age of 72.
