The father of MGM director, George Sidney, Louis K. Sidney - or L.K. Sidney as he was sometime known, started his career in show business in New York City. He married Hazael Mooney one-time child vaudeville star and their only son, George, was born in 1916. Sidney successfully managed theatres throughout the United States, eventually making his way to California where he worked at MGM as a producer.
