Birthname: Bobby Dan Davis Blocker Born: December 10, 1928-May 13, 1972 Birthplace:DeKalb, Bowie County, Texas Dan Blocker was Hoss Cartwright, the middle son on Bonanza. Hoss was gullible and not terribly bright, but he was sweet and gentle, as he was huge. Dan Blocker died suddenly at the age of 43, from a lung clot, in May of 1972.
