    David Selznick ranks among the top film makers of all time. Founding Selznick International, produced Gone With The Wind and Rebecca both Oscar Winner a a great accomplishment for a new Studio. Among other Selznick pictures were Nothing Sacred, Since You Went Away, and Duel In The Sun. Mr. Selznick guided the careers of great stars such as Gregory Peck, Joan Fontaine and Joseph Cotten. His most memorable discovery was Vivien Leigh for Scarlett O'Hara in GWTW. Garbo deemed Selznick her favorite producer, another Selznick star Ingrid Bergman became Hollywood's greatest star of the 40's No mention of Selznick can be mentioned without the name of his great love Jennifer Jones whom he raised to great stardomin Song of Bernadette (on loan to 20th) winning Jennifer her Oscar. As John Huston wrote "David put everything on the line for Jennifer". I recommend "Letters from David O Selznick" and "Showman" two books that reflect the genius of David Selznick.
