An Actor's Actor!
George C. Scott seemed always the most intelligent multi-dimensional, believable yet likable character actor in at least three movies I'm familiar with, "Anatomy of a Murder", "Patton, and "The Hustler". He had a knack for making everything he was in more interesting & thus raised the bar not only for the audience but I'm sure the other actors & film crew combined. Maybe a genius actor!
Glad the sob is dead....let animals be killed and abused.....burn in hell asshole.
Brilliant, Charismatic, and Oddly Modern
At his best, George C. Scott has an irresistible screen presence. Try keeping your eyes off Claude Dancer in Anatomy of a Murder, even when he is in the background. People think of his "gravelly" voice and commanding personality in Patton as his trademarks. But he can make his voice and personality equally mellow when the character demands it - see The Changeling for instance. If you can only visualise him as Patton, see him in The Hospital or The Hustler for a completely different man - lifeless and depressed in one and full of quiet, malicious glee in the other. He changes his body language, manner and even his "default" facial expression according to the character he is playing. And if you think he is too intense and humourless, watch Dr. Strangelove. The Pythons would have been proud of him. Finally, he is one of the those few mid-20th century actors whose acting comes off as thoroughly modern to modern audiences. He may have certain "tricks" that he repeats from his famous performances in his less worthy films, but with him, that's not the rule but the exception. That's not something we can say for most other Hollywood stars of or before (or even after) his era. George C. Scott stands out as one of the first actors to play his characters according to their characteristics, not his own.
AN EXCELLENT ACTOR!

GEORGE C. SCOTT WAS AN EXCELLENT ACTOR, AND A VERY DIVERSIFIED ONE, TOO. HE COULD GIVE A GREAT DRAMATIC PERFORMANCE, AS IN "ANATOMY OF A MURDER", AND THEN TURN UP IN "THE BANK SHOT", AND GIVE AN HILARIOUS COMEDY PERFORMANCE! HE IS ALWAYS A JOY TO WATCH!
