    I was sorry to hear of this great actor's death March 19, 2008.

    I agree, Scofield is England's greatest living actor, he maybe the world's greatest. He can also sing and dance. He was the lead in a musical called "Expresso Bongo." Unfortunately they used Laurence Harvey for the film version.

    Simon Callow, a fine actor himself, recently referred to Paul Scofield as 'England's greatest living actor.' It is an eminently sound judgement.
