BIOGRAPHY

Patrice Rushen worked on a variety of projects during her entertainment career. Rushen's early music was mostly featured in comedies like "Hollywood Shuffle" (1987) with Robert Townsend, the Tom Hanks hit "Big" (1988) and "Without You I'm Nothing" (1990). In the nineties, Rushen devoted her time to various credits, such as "Jack's Place" (ABC, 1991-93), "The 24th Annual NAACP Image Awards" (NBC, 1991-92) and "The 44th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards" (Fox, 1991-92). She also worked on the Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith box office smash "Men in Black" (1997). Rushen's music was most recently used in "Clubbed" (2009). Rushen had a number of different projects under her belt in the nineties through the early 2000s, including "Ruby Bridges" (ABC, 1997-98), "The 29th NAACP Image Awards" (Fox, 1997-98) and "The 30th NAACP Image Awards" (Fox, 1998-99). Her credits also expanded to "Soul Men" with Samuel L. Jackson (2008).
