Whit Bissell - Gone but not forgotten

Whitner Nutting Bissell will go down as one of America's greatest actors of the 20th century. He was an actor with a wide range of ability. From the Dr in "I Was a Teenage Frankenstein" to the Dr in "I Was a Teenage Werewolf" to the Dr in "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". Whit knew his Doctors! He also played a wide range of characters that were "punk slapped". No one could take a slap like Whit. He mostly played professional men like Doctors, Undertakers, Politicians, and Military men. He had an unmistakable voice and was often heard before being spotted in various movies. Whit, we love you Buddy!

I'll never forget his performance, though brief, in Invasion of the Body Snatchers. When he finally believes the doctor's story and tells the police to call the FBI. Wonderful stuff. Loved him in Outer Limits Nightmare episode, as well. Played great military officers.
