Long Live Flora Robson

There have been many actors who have played the regal roll of "The Virgin Queen" including such greats as Betty Davis, and Kate Blanchett, but for me Flora Robson is "The" Queen Elizabeth the 1st, and everyone else is just a pretender to the throne. I think Flora played Elizabeth as regal and authoritarian yet with vulnerability and a passionate sense of fairness and cause. That is what I would hope the real Queen Elizabeth the 1st was like. It's a romantic's view I know, but thats what Flora Robson's performance in "Sea Hawks" evokes in me. Long Live Flora Robson!

No one can be the Queen continuously. She truly had the right stuff. No one ever did a better job as Queen Elizabeth.

The great Flora Robson reprising her "Fire Over England" role as Elizabeth... Oh how she shines! She stands toe to toe with Mr. Flynn and delivers clever dialogue - excellent chemistry and great acting!

FORA WAS GREAT IN FIRE OVER ENGLAND. SHE PLAYED QUEEN ELIZABETH WITH DIGNITY AND CONFIDENCE AND ONE THAT A COUNTRYMAN WOULD DIE FOR IN WAR BECAUSE SHE VALUED WHEN THEY SAID...'GOD SAVE THE QUEEN'
