Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

Canadian actor Joshua Close got his first big break when he earned a small role in Oscar-winner Kathryn Bigelow's 2002 nuclear submarine thriller, "K19: The Widowmaker." Since then, he has frequently acted in horror films and on television. After a bit part in the supernatural drama "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" in 2005, Close played misguided documentarian Jason Creed, an overzealous film student who foolishly aims his lens at the coming zombie apocalypse in horror icon George A. Romero's "Diary of the Dead." The 2007 film continued the franchise that began with the 1969 classic "Night of the Living Dead." Close landed his first major television gig when he co-starred as police Det. Henry Cole on the 2009 detective series "The Unusuals" with Amber Tamblyn and Jeremy Renner. In the same year, he made his directorial debut with "Short on Love," which was shot by award-winning music video cinematographer and Beastie Boys-collaborator Wyatt Troll. He jumped into feature-length screenwriting with the 2011 thriller "Replicas," a film in which he co-starred with 1990s mainstay Selma Blair. In 2011, Ghoulardi Film Company announced that Close had been cast as an important supporting character in "The...
