Barney Bigard brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Bigard's career in acting began with his roles in various films like "Symphony in Black" (1935), the Dorothy Patrick musical drama "New Orleans" (1947) and "St. Louis Blues" (1958) with Nat King Cole. Bigard also contributed music to the action movie "The Untouchables" (1987) with Kevin Costner. In the nineties and the early 2000s, Bigard's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like "White Men Can't Jump" (1992), the Will Smith dramatic adaptation "The Legend of Bagger Vance" (2000) and the Ellen Burstyn dramatic adaptation "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood" (2002). Bigard's music was also featured in the Bruce Willis dramatic adaptation "Hart's War" (2002), "Red Dragon" (2002) and "White Countess" (2005). His music was also featured in the George Clooney dramatic adaptation "Up in the Air" (2009). Bigard's music was most recently featured in "Mildred Pierce" (2010-11).
