I agree with the commentaries regarding the biography of Ronald Reagan. It's a disgrace and highly disrespectful to have a biography such as this. Leave out the personal opinions or start working for CNN, or MSNBC where no one cares or watches.

When a writer is unable to keep their own personal opinions out of their piece then it ends up written off as an editorial. TCM should and could do better than to present this to its fans. If we want opinions then we would read newspapers. This site and TCM are about the art of film not politics. I have not seen any bios about those who were Communists being left-wing subversives or those in sex scandals labeled as perverts. There is a good reaason for that: keep it to the craft!!!

I can't beleive, but then I shouldn't be surprised, that you can't for one minute put aside your polictical agenda and give a tribute to Pres. Ronald W. Regan on his 100th birthday!! Especially when you do it for obscure actors on any birthday. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. NOT ONE MOVIE!!!

Your politcal commentary on President Regan's presidency is neither accurate nor appropriate for this venue. Facts, stick to the facts and this would be much more credible.

For Ronald Reagan, for names also known by and jobs held. couldn't you add Commander-in-Chief of the Military Forces and President of the United States? Thanks.

A really delightful actor. I hope more of his pictures will come out on DVD!

I don't know why people disagree with your bio information. Its sounds straight and forward to me. He wasn't a very good actor; but, he acted as President. We are still suffering from the effects of Reagonomics...and I am not a left wing liberal!

You have Governor Reagan, why not President Reagan

  • TCM'S "Biography" of Ronald Regan

This "biography"--a thinly veiled, politically motivated, hatchet-job--is nothing short of a disgrace. It is beneath TCM, or at least it should be, to be deemed responsible for its content.

Ronnie was a better actor than given credit for...but he never quite got out of the supporting actor syndrome. his range was limited, and his characterizations un-complex, but professionally rendered, given the limitations of his scripts and his talent. He employed his skills as a politician to dramatize his proposals to much better effect. I recently saw him in a Bette Davis film...I believe "Dark Victory". He played an un-serious partying boozer type...and was convincing.....but he never quite caught on for the long term. He made the correct choice in leaving the screen....or perhaps not, depending upon one's political preferences?

  • TCM's biography on Ronald Reagan a leftist slant

    • Ric Starnes
    • 2008-01-23

It seems that the biography on Ronald Reagan is so biased with a leftist slant that TCM has lost its direction on whether this is a political biography or an theatrical one. Sounds like Ted Turner or Howard Dean wrote it.

  • Admiration for President Reagan

We loved President Reagan. He served his country most admirably and with great value. Your slams at his work are not appreciated. When you list the names by which he was called during his lifetime, your omission of "President Reagan" was notably absent. If you can write Governor, you can indeed write President. Well, no matter what you write, history has written his story on the face of America and that of humanity. I do not admire Ted Turner.

  • You need to put more about him up close.

If someone is trying to picture this while he reads, how can he if you don't write about his appearance at all. What does he look like, how tall was he.

  • Just a good person to watch.

He never amounted to what is considered the super star actor, yet in his own way he made each of his roles enjoyable to watch. From Drake to Sgt. Bill - he was such a likeable fellow you couldn't help but root for him in all of his pictures. I don't think he gets credit for his overall work; instead of criticized for a few roles.

  • Ronald Reagan - Biography

    • Brian Cain
    • 2006-01-20

Your Biography of Ronaldus Magnus has the quality of a typical U-C Berkeley grad student - one on his way to the latest marxist cell meeting. That is, it is total drivil; typical bias of the left. Everything is to be seen from the eyes of radical left - marxists! TOTAL BALONEY! Regards, Brian Cain - A loyal Reagan voter and admirer.
