    Ella Raines was a beautiful actress. Her talent sparkled in the same way her eyes did when things start to get really interesting in her films. She worked her way through a series of early supporting roles in "Corvette K-225" and "Cry Havoc" to successfully take on leading lady duties in "The Strange Affair of Uncle Harry", "Tall in the Saddle", "The Suspect" and "Phantom Lady". But my favourite film of Ms. Raines' is "The Web" with whom she starred opposite Edmond O'Brien, William Bendix and Vincet Price. Her turn as the secretary Noel has just the right tone for the classic thriller and she ably demonstrates the allure that made many a movie-watcher fall in love with her. I'd love to see more of her on TCM, particularly her later films.
