Leon Quartermaine made his mark in the world of entertainment when he worked on "Escape Me Never" (1935) with Elisabeth Bergner. In 1950, he appeared in "Much Ado About Nothing" at the Stratford Theatre Festival at the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon, England. In 1929, he made his screen debut in "Settled Out of Court." Quartermaine was married to Fay Compton.
