BIOGRAPHY

Former secretary discovered by Charlie Chaplin at the age of 17 while she was visiting his studios. Purviance co-starred with Chaplin in over 30 films, beginning with "A Night Out" (1915) and including "The Tramp" (1915), "The Immigrant" (1917) and "The Kid" (1920).
