The Cisco Kid (Duncan Renaldo) and Pancho (Leo Carrillo) find a dog, Daisy (played by Daisy), grieving for its lost master. Cisco senses a plot when he later learns that the missing man, Paul Mason (John James), recently discovered a gold lode in the nearby hills. The trail leads to the owner of a gambling hall, Lon Lansdell (John Litel). Linda Mason (Barbara Billingsley), searching for her lost brother, is met when she arrives by Cisco, who tries to hell her the true story as he sees it, but she prefers to believe Landell's version of her brother's disappearance. Lansdell leads Linda to her brother, and she is used in an attempt to make Mason disclose the location of his gold strike. But Cisco and Pancho are close by.

The Cisco Kid (Duncan Renaldo) and Pancho (Martin Garralaga) hold up a stagecoach and kidnap Ellen Roth (Gwen Kenyon). They take the girl, who is wanted on a murder charge, to the mission where Padre Angelo (Pedro de Cordoba) will look after her. She tells Cisco of a mysterious Doctor Willis(Richard Gordon) who called on an aged woman she had been nursing and gave her an overdose of sleeping pills. Convinced that Ellen is innocent, Cisco sets out to prove it. He goes to Bill Hastings (Norman Wills) where he makes a deal to turn Ellen in if Cisco gets part of the money Hastings will inherit when she is convicted. With Ellen safely in jail, Cisco and Pancho force the local newspaper to run a story saying that Doc Willis has been apprehended. Hastings makes another deal with Cisco to kill Ellen before she testifies against Doc.

Molly (Glenda Farrell) and her troupe of dancing girls and "entertainers", sent for by saloon owner "Sometime" Smith, arrive in a Klondike mining town by train. Smith is out of town and rival saloon owner Jefferson Braddock (Tom Neal) signs the girls up to work in his saloon. Also arriving is Katherine (Kate) O'Day, with a deed of ownership, willed her by her father, to Braddock's saloon. She hires attorney and self-appointed Judge Horace Crawford (George Cleveland) to handle her ownership claim, but she soon sees that the deck has been stacked against her when Crawford works the trial as the judge and also the lawyer for both sides. She takes a job as singer in the saloon, replacing Lita (Constance Worth) both as star and Braddock's "favorite." Lita helps Smith win a crooked-and-staged game of "High Card" giving Smith ownership of Braddock's saloon. But Smith double-crosses her and she shoots him somewhat dead, and Braddock is accused of the killing, and is about to be lynched.
