Howard Petrie was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Petrie's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as "Walk Softly, Stranger" (1950), the action film "Rocky Mountain" (1950) with Errol Flynn and "No Questions Asked" (1951) with Barry Sullivan. He also appeared in the Joel McCrea western "Cattle Drive" (1951), the Ann Blyth historical film "The Golden Horde" (1951) and the James Stewart western "Bend of the River" (1952). He continued to act in productions like the adventure "The Wild North" (1952) with Stewart Granger, "Red Ball Express" (1952) with Jeff Chandler and the Tyrone Power action movie "Pony Soldier" (1952). He also appeared in "The Veils of Bagdad" (1953). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Bob Mathias biopic "The Bob Mathias Story" (1954), the historical feature "Sign of the Pagan" (1954) with Jeff Chandler and the western "Rage at Dawn" (1955) with Randolph Scott. He also appeared in the Betty Grable comedy adaptation "How to Be Very, Very Popular" (1955) and the western "The Maverick Queen" (1956) with Barbara Stanwyck.
