A fan can love an actor ,not as a family member or friend loves them, but as a magical being out there in the universe. Some one you will never meet never speak to ,but someone who touched your heart from the first time you saw them.My first memory of his work was when I was in high school and saw him in Julius Ceasar. My favorite role was the Apache chief in Honda. What a voice .For many years from time to time I wondered if he was still alive-this morning I heard the news. There was a long list of many famous actors and actresses who died in 2009.I recognized and remembered many of them fondly. But when I saw Michael Pate's name-I cried.I didn't know him at all of course but his death makes me sad. Good-bye Mr.Pate
