Fringe player in numerous B productions of the 1940s who came to prominence as the lead in "The Al Jolson Story" (1946). Parks' career was curtailed when he admitted his past Communist affiliations to the House Committee on Un-American Activities. Married to actress Betty Garrett from 1944.
