LOVE THAT ACTRESS
I FIRST NOTICED THIS TALENTED ACTRESS WHEN I WAS WATCHING MY FAVORITE ACTRESS JOAN CRAWFORD'S EARLY SILENT'S AND TALKIE'S. I LOVE OUR BLUSHING BRIDES AND OR OUR DANCING DAUGHTERS. THEN I DISCOVERED HER FILMS, NAVY BLUES AND BROADWAY MELODY. I REALLY LIKE THIS ACTRESS AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE HER MOVIES RELEASED ON DVD WITH JOAN CRAWFORD AS WELL. PLEASE CONTINUE BRINGING US THE GREAT CLASSICS AND GREAT ACTRESSES WE STILL HAVE YET TO DISCOVER....
I am now watching a tirbute to Anita Page and I'm impressed. I had seen her in Our Dancing Daughters and I knew that she had played in Our Modern Maidens and Our Blushing Brides, but I had never known that she was such a big star. I saw her in The Broadway Melody (1929) and loved it. I also did not know that she had died last September. I would loveto see more of her movies soon. Keep up showing these amazing movies and their stars TCM!
Anita Page made a big splash in 1928 in Our Dancing Daughters with Joan Crawford and in 1929 in The Broadway Melody. Page made the transition to talkies as leading lady to William Haines and Buster Keaton but failed to become a top star. She worked through mid-30s then retired only to return to film 60 years later!
