Wheeler Oakman worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Oakman's earliest roles were in film, including the western "The Spoilers" (1914) with William Farnum, "Outside the Law" (1921) with Priscilla Dean and "Half Breed" (1922). He also appeared in the western "Hey! Hey! Cowboy" (1927) with Hoot Gibson, "Lights of New York" (1928) and "The Goodbye Kiss" (1928). He continued to act in productions like "Two Fisted Law" (1932), "Silent Men" (1933) and "Man of Action" (1933). He also appeared in "Soldiers of the Storm" (1933). During the latter half of his career, he continued to act in "Timber War" (1936), "Batmen of Africa" (1936) and "Song of the Trail" (1936). He also appeared in "Gambling With Souls" (1936). Oakman also acted in "Brick Bradford."
