Michelle Nicastro was a multi-faceted performer who spent her career dabbling in each of the performing arts. Hailing from Washington D.C., she gained her first acting experience on the stage, most notably the key female role of Éponine in the 1988 Los Angeles production of "Les Misérables." Given her theatrical success, it was only a matter of time before Nicastro was picked up for television and movies. So it was no surprise when a guest appearance on the widely watched high-tech espionage series "Airwolf" launched her screen career. Although she never reached star status, she was a durable and familiar presence in many TV and film offerings until her death in 2010. Among her better remembered roles was the small but pivotal one of Amanda, the student who connects the title characters in the 1987 romantic comedy "When Harry Met Sally." With her well-honed voice, Nicastro occasionally assayed singing roles. While most of these parts were in stage productions, she did vocal duty from time to time for series like "Xena: Warrior Princess," providing the singing voice for the character Callisto. And in between acting roles, Nicastro found the time to release four musical albums. These largely consisted...
