As a child, I watched and enjoyed the Boston Blackie movies. Saturday night was movie night on our local tv station. That was the night I spent with my Grandmother and was alowed to stay up late and watch the movie. Such fond memories of watching Boston Blackie get out of the hand cuffs and escaping from the "cops". Very good movies. Thanks to Chester Morris for the entertainment. I will always remember him with a smile.

An Incredibly Underplayed Actor

One of the finest actors who could play humorous as well as the noir roles. A month of Sundays should be dedicated to him.

Chester Morris is screwy!

Chester Morris is very well-cast in this Freudian psychodrama, and is actually almost credible as a "vulnerable psychopath" who just needs a bit of "talking to" by psychoanalyst Ralph Bellamy to have his penchant for killing people taken away. I think he does a much better job with this material than William Holden in the remake! Recommended.

Great actor, great screen presence

I totally agree w/what earlier commenter Tresa Stewart said. Between his lantern jaw, perfect profile, & great voice, he had an ultra-masculine screen presence. On top of that, what an actor! He was so versatile w/both his look & voice in the Boston Blackie series. I'd love to see a TCM docu on this talented, enigmatic actor.

I love the Boston Blackie series. I keep hoping these will come out on DVD, a new generations deserves to learn what a great actor and role this man/character was!

Under rated actor, a real mans man!

I have a very hard time finding many films on VHS, or DVD on this fine actor. He was a rough tough real man. He was underrated in my opinion. He could be the handsome husband, or the strong detective, hood. He was great. Loved that he was a real MAN no fake girly hidden in him!
