In 1930s Texas, following the murder of his father, Tom Morgan joins the Texas Rangers to avenge his father's death and to follow in his path as a proponent of Indian rights. His task as a Ranger is to stop the evil Zaroff and his gang, who are smuggling the elements for a powerful explosive from a mine on Indian land.

With the Sheriff and the Vigilantes not bringing in the Paint Horse gang, the Governor sends for Tom Munroe. He is soon on to their game. After their robberies they ride off on different mounts while Casino hides the paint horses. Tom learns the name of the leader when Casino confesses but he and a few men are then trapped in a ranch house when the gang attacks.

Winters is after the Brand ranch and his man Brett who is foreman there is rustling the Brand stock. But Tom is on to their game and breaks up their attempt to buy the ranch. When they plan to rustle their horses, Tom must not only rescue Danny Brand who is their prisoner but stop the rustlers.

Learning that Molly O'Rourke owns the entire town of Stillwell but the back taxes have not been paid, Ben Jones takes over. When Molly arrives and learns of the tax situation, Tom rides off to pay them. But Jones is on to Tom and sends his entire gang after him.

The Rangers have planted wanted posters of their man Tom Logan around hoping he can join the outlaw gang they are after. Robbing the stage ahead of the gang gets him in and he learns Keefe is the boss. When it's time for the big bank robbery Keefe puts Tom in charge but secretly tells a henchman to kill him during the holdup.

Griffen and his two men have been caught after robbing a bank but the money has not been recovered. So the Chief sends his friend Tom to prison to become their friend and hopes he can learn where the loot is hidden.

Brant frames Destry and has men testify against him. Found guilty he vows to return. Back from prison he goes after the man that framed him. When the Sheriff is shot before he can talk, Destry chases down the killer and learning Brant is the man, heads out to get him.

The King of a small European country, just a boy, takes an interest in Tom Reed's wild west show. Tom puts on a special show just for the King and the two become friends. When the King takes Tom's advise instead of the Count's, the Count has the King kidnaped planning to kill him. When Tom learns of the Kings disappearance he and his troop of men, without any real bullets for their guns, ride off to rescue him.

Small town America: the Cohens own a movie theater; the Kellys own a diner. Kitty Kelly and Maurice Cohen are young lovers; Maurice sends Kitty's picture to a movie studio, and they accept her and make her a star. Soon, the Kelly family is living the high life; they write a postcard to the Cohens, who take a polite "wish you were here" as an invitation to sell everything. The Kellys shun the Cohens, who they now see as gauche. But when sound films are introduced, Kitty is no longer a star, and composer Maurice suddenly makes his family rich (for a while) .

Rigby, Larribe, and Grant each have one third of Bill Joyce's map locating his gold mine. The three plus Joyce's sister Helen head for the mine. An accident with a runaway horse carrying supplies leaves them stranded in the desert with very little water.
