  • Mifune leading man

Toshiro definitely needs his own day, It was his role in Seven Samurai and Yojimbo that turned me into a Japanese movie fan and a Kurosawa fan. He is definitely leadingman material and it's a shame his movies aren't played more often.

  • Mifune - a True Samurai!

Mifune took acting as seriously as a Samurai takes his sword. A person w/Honor..I believe it was a disgrace to "dub over" his lines in the movie "Midway" (even more so, when the director used the voice of "Boris" from "Rocky & Bullwinkle!!! What an insult!!!) He spoke English VERY well in "Gran Prix" and in "Red Sun". From playing a samurai or a corporate business man, Mifune was believable in every roll. I wish TCM would devote a day of his movies like they do to other actors - and NOT play them in the middle of the night either! If you dedicate a day of Victor Mature, why not Mifune? Also, Toshiro is one VERY SEXY man; right up their w/Clark Gable, James Garner, Rock Hudson!
