With a knack for drama, it didn't take long for Canadian actress Cara Pifko to make her presence felt on her country's television scene. Born in Toronto in 1976, Pifko landed her first TV gig at just 8, on the educational children's program "Sharon, Lois & Bram's Elephant Show." Years later, Pifko made her first dramatic turns, with a series of one-off roles as teenagers in series, plus similar parts in TV movies and features. An early break came in 2000, when Pifko starred as a magazine-creating teenager in the award-winning, youth-oriented Canadian Broadcasting Corporation series "Our Hero." The show lasted into 2002, after which she scored a role as wide-eyed lawyer Alice De Raey in the CBC's legal dramedy "This Is Wonderland." That role, plus her supporting turn as a young aid worker in the dramatic miniseries "Human Cargo," earned her two nominations for Gemini Awards (Canadian television's top honor) in 2004. Pifko won the lead actress award the following year for "This Is Wonderland," and stayed on that show through 2006. The mid- and late-2000s brought Pifko much voice work, with a regular role on the animated kids' series "Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends," a recurring spot (with multiple characters) on the animated "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," and several video game parts for the self-admitted gaming junkie. Not to stray from live-action TV, Pifko also spent part of 2009 as an assistant district attorney on the long-running daytime soap "General Hospital."
