Ralph Meeker
- Adventure
- 2012-12-30
I liked Mr. Meeker in a variety of roles and regret Mr. Meeker never ascended to the super stardom he deserved. One film of Meeker's I like is Susan Hayward's MGM film "Ada" directed by Daniel Mann. There is one scene in particular when Meeker playing a tough guy role tries to blackmail Ms. Hayward's character and Susan ever true to form slaps the rough and ready Meeker and moves on. Two tough and great professionals stars.

I saw Ralph for the first time in a re-run of Wagon Train entitled "A Man Named Horse." He impressed me very much in that role. And also he looks so much like Jeff Bridges. So I had to look him up. Very impressive actor.

The finest performance for Ralph Meeker is Definitely him as Mike Hammer in Kiss Me Deadly. I'm always watching for one of his fims. He's way above good he is very good in scifi.

Every time I discover another film featuring Ralph Meeker, I wonder why I hadn't heard more about him! He reminds me a little of Jeff Bridges... He steals the show in every film he's in...if he had starred in the film version of "Picnic," who knows what path his career would have taken. Regardless, we can enjoy his film legacy via TCM or DVD!
