Steve McQueen

Would love seeing more Steve McQueen movies on TCM. Steve was a natural actor. Love everything he did. 2018 is 50th anniversary of Bullitt. Will TCM recognize this by showing Bullitt multiple times? Need more of The King of Cool.

Steve McQueen, Love with Proper Stranger
- Vicky
- 2017-05-28
I watched Love with the Proper Stranger for the first time when I was a kid. It made such an impression on me along with the stars of the movie, Natalie Wood and Steve McQueen. It still holds up very well and I never tire of watching it. I have followed their careers and it's great to see their movies on TCM. It would be wonderful to see TCM do a Steve McQueen tribute and show more of his movies, including the ones he made toward the end of his life. Thanks to TCM, I love what you do!!!

American Icon

As a young boy I had the pleasure of seeing The Great Escape in one of the old downtown mega theaters in L. A . He defined exactly what an an American character is. Tough, cunning, resourceful, quick thinking, smart talker. A lovable rouge who respects authority, but to a point. This is a template for what an American should be. Just like Clark Gable he showed us all how to be an American man. His characters never took any nonsense, and they always seemed to think out of the box, regardless off the repercussions. As a racer he was almost fearless, and quite talented. He relished in the world of Motorsports and left all the Hollywood nonsense behind. He strove to be the best in all he could do. His treatment of Neile was not his best attribute, philandering an womanizing not his most endearing traits. But he was Steve McQueen, Number one box office the king of cool, a human inside, who like us all isn't perfect. I recommend that one should see all his films, read his biographies and learn about this great American Icon. Al Salce

We see Liz Taylor movies all week, Kirk Douglas, Marilyn Monroe etc. I'm a Steve Mcqueen lover and would love to see his movies on tv. They just don't play them. I would especially love to see Baby the rain must fall. I guess that was the first movie I saw him in as a kid.

Words cannot express how much I love and respect this man. He's so remarkable I can't believe he's real!! He is without a doubt the greatest actor ever. He's so natural and realistic it's like he's not even acting. It's breathtaking. And he was a veeery sweet, kind hearted generous man who gave to those unfortunate. He was the greatest father in the world. He's true to himself and stands strong in his beliefs which is something I do, too. This man is a gift. He was an Angel in life and he's an Angel in Heaven. He'll be forever loved and missed.

A fine actor with a talent to attract the audience with his slick stunts. The best Mcqueen movies were The Great Escape, The Magnificent 7, Bullit and Papillon. It was a joy to watch him in these.

I cant think of any thing bad to say about his acting. He was amazing, Magnificent, and gifted. His acting pulls you right into the show and almost makes you belive it's really happening. He was very handsom, too. I;m sad to here he didn't have a very long life. If he would have, I have a feeling we would of been seeing alot more of him. sincerily, Lindsay; age 15
