Joseph Mascolo was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Early on, Mascolo mostly landed roles in various films, including the Richard Roundtree action picture "Shaft's Big Score" (1972), the Lawrence Cook drama "The Spook Who Sat By the Door" (1973) and the Patricia Neal thriller "Happy Mother's Day... Love, George" (1973). He worked in series television while getting his start in acting, including a part on "From These Roots" (NBC, 1957-1962). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the seventies and the eighties, appearing in the action flick "Jaws 2" (1978) with Roy Scheider, the Burt Reynolds action film "Sharky's Machine" (1981) and the adventure "Yes, Giorgio" (1982) with Luciano Pavarotti. He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "Bronk" (CBS, 1975-76). He also was featured in the TV movie "Ernie Kovacs: Between the Laughter" (ABC, 1983-84). Most recently, Mascolo appeared on "The 25th Daytime Emmy Awards" (NBC, 1997-98).
