As a well-versed British entertainer, Millicent Martin had a diverse career in the entertainment industry. Martin kickstarted her acting career in various films such as "Libel" (1959) featuring Dirk Bogarde, "The Girl on the Boat" (1961) with Norman Wisdom and the dramedy "Nothing But the Best" (1964) with Alan Bates. She also appeared in "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" (1965), the Michael Caine dramatic adaptation "Alfie" (1965) and "Stop the World -- I Want to Get Off" (1966). In the eighties and the nineties, work on the television shows "Murphy Brown" (1988-1998) and "L.A. Law" (1986-1994) followed. She appeared in a number of television specials, including "The Tom Jones Christmas Special" () and "A Broadway Christmas" (1990-91). More recently, she tackled roles on "Stark Raving Mad" (1999-2000), "Bones" (2005-) and "Castle" (2008-). She also appeared in "Hot in Cleveland" (2009-2015). Most recently, Martin acted on "Modern Family" (2009-).
