BIOGRAPHY

Millicent Martin was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Martin began her acting career with roles in such films as "Libel" (1959) with Dirk Bogarde, the Norman Wisdom comedy "The Girl on the Boat" (1961) and "Nothing But the Best" (1964) with Alan Bates. She also appeared in the Stuart Whitman comedic adventure "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" (1965), "Alfie" (1965) with Michael Caine and "Stop the World -- I Want to Get Off" (1966). She also appeared in the TV special "A Broadway Christmas" (Showtime, 1990-91). Martin focused on television in more recent years, appearing on "L.A. Law" (1986-1994), "Murphy Brown" (CBS, 1988-1998) and "Coach" (1988-1997). In her more recent career, she tackled roles on "Stark Raving Mad" (1999-2000), "Gilmore Girls" (2000-07) and "Bones" (Fox, 2005-). She also appeared in "Castle" (ABC, 2008-). Most recently, Martin acted on "Modern Family" (ABC, 2009-).
