Director of Oscar Winners
- David Atkins
Daniel Mann was a solid and very effective and very underrated Director. in the 50's Mann directed Shirley Booth ( Come Back Little Sheba), Anna Magnani ( The Rose Tatoo) and Elizabeth Taylor ( Butterfield 8) to Oscar wins. Quite an accomplishment. Another legendary star Susan Hayward declared Mann her favorite director ( I'll Cry Tomorrow). Hayward before her death asked to see one of her films and to the surprise of many Susan Hayward asked to see her starring Danny Mann film Ada. Daniel Mann also directed yet another top female star Lana Turner in a departure for both Turner and Mann, a comedy Who's Got The Action with Dean Martin. Mann's last major film was Merle Oberon's vanity production of Interval.
