Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

Actor-comedian George Lopez was something of a one-man entertainment industry. Best known to mass audiences as the co-creator, writer, producer and star of the ABC situation comedy "George Lopez" (2002-07), he also regularly sold out large venues with his stand-up comedy act, earned a Grammy nomination with his sophomore comedy album, and became a best-selling author. He also managed to fit in several movie roles and television award show hosting gigs. Outside the industry, Lopez also received various awards for his humanitarian efforts, both within his home base of Los Angeles and around the world. As his comedic skills continued to sharpen, culminating in Lopez being given his own late night talk show, "Lopez Tonight" (TBS, 2009-2011), his stature as one of Hispanic entertainment's towering figures continued to expand and impress.
