Though Parisian director Louis Leterrier has only been making motion pictures for less than a decade, each production has been an action-packed blockbuster hit. He grew up in a film oriented family with a director father and costume designer mother. After studying film at the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, Leterrier returned to his homeland and found himself as a production assistant for "Alien Resurrection." After completing various production roles on movie sets, Leterrier's directorial debut was "The Transporter," starring Jason Statham as a malicious French mercenary. The action movie was a blockbuster sensation in Europe and sparked two additional sequels. His next career move was directing Jet Li in the martial arts thriller "Unleashed," also starring Morgan Freeman. The fast-paced picture was welcomed with positive reviews worldwide. After a brief hiatus, Leterrier made his entrance into American cinema by directing his first comic book blockbuster "The Incredible Hulk." The movie was a commercial triumph and affirmed Leterrier as a reputable director for the action genre.
