Mars' genre-bending musical style combined soulful hooks, rock-tinged melodies, and hip-hop beats, which created a unique and modern sound embraced by critics and music lovers. He eventually climbed to the top of the charts with his own hit "Just the Way You Are," the lead single off his eponymous debut LP, Doo-Wops & Hooligans (2010).
