Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

The 1960s-set advertising drama "Mad Men" can safely be categorized as a zeitgeist show. This window into a well-lubricated era of Madison Avenue as envisioned by former "Sopranos" producer Matthew Weiner has captured the public's imagination and forever branded the name of its network AMC. It's also been a career-maker for cast members such as Michael Gladis, whose work on the show has earned him three consecutive Screen Actors Guild Award nods for dramatic ensemble work in 2008, 2009, and 2010. He and his co-stars won the award in those last two years. As supporting character Paul Kinsey, Gladis gets to play a liberal-slanted, Princeton-educated, pipe-smoking copywriter at the ad agency who is also one of the more political of all the staff members. In 2010, Gladis also moonlighted on the Adult Swim comedy series "Eaglehart," headlined by former David Letterman sidekick Chris Elliott. Before hitting the AMC jackpot as an actor, Gladis had a small role on the 2002 Harrison Ford action movie "K-19" and a four-episode recurring arc a year later on the NBC drama "Third Watch."
