Former New York stage director and actor, Leftwich directed such hits as ‘Hit the Deck,’ ‘Strike Up the Band’ and ‘Girl Crazy,’ among others. His stepdaughter Patricia Ellis (1916-1970) was a movie actress. Leftwich died following a heart attack.
