Otto Lederer worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Lederer's career started with debut roles in "The Avenging Arrow" (1921), "White Eagle" (1922), and "Black Oxen" (1924). Lederer next focused his career on film, appearing in "King of Kings" (1927), the dramatic adaptation "The Jazz Singer" (1927) with Al Jolson and "Celebrity" (1928). He also appeared in the Phyllis Haver dramatic adaptation "Chicago" (1928). Toward the end of his career, Lederer acted in the Fredric March drama "The Sign of the Cross" (1932).
