James Barton worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Barton's career beginnings include film roles in the drama "The Shepherd of the Hills" (1941) with John Wayne, the dramatic adaptation "The Time of Your Life" (1948) with James Cagney, and "Yellow Sky" (1948). Barton made film his next project, appearing in "The Daughter of Rosie O'Grady" (1950) with June Haver, the Betty Grable musical "Wabash Avenue" (1950) and the Mitzi Gaynor historical film "Golden Girl" (1951). He also appeared in the Bing Crosby comedy "Here Comes the Groom" (1951) and "Quantez" (1957) with Fred MacMurray. Toward the end of his career, Barton acted in "The Misfits" (1961). James Barton passed away in February 1962 at the age of 72.
