Prolilfic, reliable Hollywood character player during its golden years, with dark eyes and hair and a stylishly sinister look. LaRue most often played a gangster, gambler, turncoat, petty crook or working class type; memorable menacing Miriam Hopkins in "The Story of Temple Drake" (1933).
