BIOGRAPHY

Veteran independent TV producer began his career as a guild lawyer. As a producer, Jaffe was involved in several of the more prestigious dramatic and musical variety shows of the 1950s: "Producers Showcase", "The Bell Telephone Hour", "Shirley Temple's Storybook", "Goodyear Playhouse", and "The Dinah Shore Chevy Show". He also produced the popular specials of "Peter Pan" starring Mary Martin, "Cyrano de Bergerac" starring Jose Ferrer, the Old Vic's "Romeo and Juliet" with Claire Bloom, and "Festival of Music" with Arthur Rubinstein and Marian Anderson. Jaffe also executive produced specials starring Dinah Shore, Wayne Newton, Stan Laurel, and Cheryl Ladd. His production company, "Henry Jaffe Productions", produced the acclaimed 1968 NBC-TV special "Teacher, Teacher" starring David McCallum and Ossie Davis for the "Hallmark Hall of Fame". He also had critical success in the 1970s as the executive producer of "Dinah's Place" and "Dinah!" reuniting him with Dinah Shore. His other credits include the TV-movies "Emily, Emily", "A Woman Called Moses", and "Aunt Mary".
