Directed his first Disney cartoon short, "Bone Trouble" starring Pluto (Mickey Mouse's dog)

Directed Goofy for the first time in "Goofy's Glider"

Directed "How to Ride a Horse", a short segment of the Disney omnibus feature "The Reluctant Dragon", starring Goofy; led to a successful series of "How To..." Goofy sports shorts

Directed the Oscar-winning WWII propaganda cartoon, "Der Fuehrer's Face"
