While at ABC-TV, Kerner's department placed "Moonlighting" (1984-89), "Dynasty" (1980-89), and "MacGyver" (1985-) on the network's schedule.

Member of the President's Advisory Council of the City.

Serves on the board of directors to the Media Office Inc., established by the California Governors Committee for Employment of Disabled Persons.

He is founder and former chairperson to the Committee of the Arts of the Beverly Hills Bar Association (organized to provide minimal cost legal aid to indigent artists; provide arts-entertainment groups and disabled artists with educational programs and guest speakers).
