A member of the British theatrical family, Cooper, a sixth generation actress began her career as a singer on Broadway during the 1920s & 30s. While on Broadway she appeared in a number of productions including ‘The Fountain of Youth,’ ‘All Dressed Up’ with James Crane and, ‘I Know My Love’ with Fontanne and Lunt. Sister of actors Anthony, Greta and Violet Kemble Cooper, Lillian was married to actor/writer Charles Mackay and actor Guy Bates Post.
