Elwin Kettle might win a scholarship to an agricultural college. Essay contest judges Mannering and Crosby decide to choose between the two finalist by spending the weekend at the home of each. Pa makes numerous cosmetic improvements to his rundown home to impress the judges, but all wash away in a torrential rain storm. Will the judges still award the scholarship to Elwin?

The ice-cold diva Paula ruthlessly exploits the guys she dates. While blackmailing the married Don with a recent one-night-stand, she has a secret affair with Henry, who works as researcher for the weekly authentic TV show "Crime of the Week", which Don writes for. When Henry fails to help her to a role, she insults him deadly... and ends up dead herself. Now Don desperately tries to hide his traces, but Henry sabotages his efforts and suggests he write the unsolved murder case for next week's show...

Saloon entertainer Vermilion O'Toole and her former partner in crime Newt Cole escape from a train ride to prison and hide out in logging town Timberline. Meanwhile, the three 'cute' sons of widower Will Hall come to town in search of a wife for their dad, and pick our heroine. Vermilion needs to lay low to escape the marshal, so she accepts the boys' offer to visit pioneer community Pine Grove. Once there, she annoys local Mrs. Grundys but eventually starts to fit in. But what is that blackhearted villain Newt Cole up to?

The Golden Blade (1953) as Handmaiden
Harum (Rock Hudson) is a fearless man of the people who comes to Bagdad to avenge the murder of his father and meets Krairuzan (Piper Laurie), a princess disguised as a commoner, working against a plot by a band of evil schemers trying to do away with her father, the Caliph. She gives Harum a golden sword which, in his hands, makes him invincible. Harum uses the sword in the name of justice and is doing quite well until a duplicate sword is placed in his scabbard during one of his off-guard moments, and he winds up in chains.

Francis Goes to West Point (1952) as Cynthia Daniels
Peter Sterling (Donald O'Conner) is working at a government plant. His friend Francis (the talking mule) tells him the plant is going to be bombed. Peter passes the information to the plant manager. The bombers are caught and the plant is saved. Because of his help in saving the plant, Peter is sent to West Point. After his arrival, he finds out that Francis is there as one of the mascots. As usual, Peter gets himself in trouble by telling the commander that Francis can talk.

Buckaroo Sheriff of Texas (1951) as Betty Dawson
It's just after the Civil War in Texas and Sam White has found a rich deposit of bauxite. But lawlessness abounds and Jim Tulane and his henchmen are in control. Tulane knows White has found something but is unable to find out what and kills him. He also knows the key is in a toy wagon White gave to his son. The son figures out the puzzle only to learn that Tulane's henchman has already accidently found the answer.
